Groups & Activities: Adults

St Paul’s provides a home to a variety of regular groups and activities for adults, details of which you will find listed below.

Active Seniors

Active Seniors meets at St Paul’s Church on the first Thursday of the month from 1.30-3.30pm throughout the year. We enjoy getting together for tea/coffee, cake, a chat and other activities – below you can see us decorating Easter bonnets at our recent meeting. This is a drop-in session with no pre-booking required, so come along and give us a try! We charge £1.50 per person to cover our costs. For more information, please get in touch via the Contact Us page.

Book Group

The St Paul’s Book Group meets once a month throughout the year to discuss their latest book. They read a variety of genres, fiction and non-fiction, and occasionally watch a book-related DVD. New members are always welcome, so please get in touch via the Contact Us page for more information / to join.

Choir

Our choir comprises both young and old and is made up of members of the congregation, the local community and further afield. We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7.45-8.45pm and sing at the 10am service most weeks. From time to time, we also sing at evening services and at special celebratory services throughout the year. We are always looking for new members, so if you are interested in joining, please get in touch via the Contact Us page.

Meditation Group (Zoom)

Our popular Meditation Group meets on Monday evenings from 8-9pm (via Zoom / in person) during term time. Join us for an hour of reflection, silence, prayer and meditation. Perfect if you are in need of a bit of peace and quiet and/or want to deepen your spiritual journey. Every session incorporates some teaching and 20 minutes of silent meditation. Join us on a regular basis, or just once in a while. All welcome – no previous experience required. Please get in touch via the Contact Us page for more information.

Mothers' Union

The Mothers’ Union is an active branch which meets throughout the year for prayer, fellowship and to learn about and celebrate the work of the Mothers’ Union worldwide. The Mothers’ Union provides its members with a network through which they can serve Christ through prayer and by actively working in programmes that meet local needs. All are welcome to join – please get in touch via the Contact Us page for more information.

Thursday Lunch Club (TLC)

Thursday Lunch Club, otherwise known as TLC, meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month throughout the year and provides an opportunity for local people to come together to enjoy good food and good company in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We meet at 12 noon for lunch at 12.30pm, which includes a delicious home-cooked main course (vegetarian option available), pudding, tea and coffee – all for an extremely reasonable £5 per person. TLC is becoming ever more popular, so advance booking is required. For more information, or to book your place, please click here.
