Read on for details of our upcoming weekend and weekday worship services (including live stream links), prayer meetings, and other group activities and events taking place at St Paul’s during the month of December. Special seasonal services and events taking place this month include our Christingle services, Messy Christmas for Families, our Choir Christmas Concert and our Christmas Carol Service. If you missed the grand opening of our Christmas Tree Festival over the Advent weekend, you can still see the wonderful display of Christmas trees at services and events throughout the Christmas season.
Weekend Worship Services
Sunday 4th December
- 10am – Christingle Service (live streamed)
- 11.30am – Sunday Xtra Christingle Service
Today, on the second Sunday in Advent, we celebrate Christingle at St Paul’s. Come along and make a Christingle with symbolic orange, candle and sweets! We have two services for you to choose from – our 10am Christingle Service and our 11.30am Sunday Xtra Christingle Service. Both services are family-friendly, but the Sunday Xtra service will be in a more relaxed style. Sue Lawrence will be leading both our 10am service, which will also be live streamed via our YouTube channel, and our 11.30am service. We do hope you can join us!

Join us in church or online for our Holy Communion Service today, the third Sunday in Advent, with Sue Lawrence leading, and John Butler presiding and preaching.
Sunday 18th December
- 10am – Holy Communion Service (live streamed)
- 11.30am – Sunday Xtra
- 7pm – Christmas Carol Service (pre-booking required)
Join us on the fourth Sunday in Advent, in church or online, for our Holy Communion Service. Sue Lawrence will be leading and preaching at today’s service, with Brian Greenfield presiding. Brian also leads our Sunday Xtra service today.
Our Christmas Carol Service, led by Chris Clough, takes place in church at 7pm this evening, but will also be live streamed via our YouTube channel. This is an incredibly popular and atmospheric candle-lit service with the singing of Christmas carols, led by our choir. Saturday 24th December
- 11.30pm – Midnight Communion Service (live streamed)
This Christmas Eve, at 11.30pm, we will hold our Midnight Communion Service. At this service, which will be lead by Chris Clough, with John Butler presiding and preaching, we will enjoy the traditional first communion of Christmas and the singing of carols. Sunday 25th December
- 10am – Family Communion Service (live streamed)
Join on Christmas Day for our Family Communion Service – a Christmas celebration service with Holy Communion and the singing of Christmas carols. This service takes place at 10am and will be live streamed via our YouTube channel. Sue Lawrence leads today’s service, with Brian Greenfield presiding and preaching. Weekday Worship Services
Wednesday Holy Communion
10am – A short, quiet and reflective service on Wednesday mornings throughout the year, followed by refreshments at 10.30am (No service on Wednesday 28th December).
Prayer Meetings
An Hour of Prayer
10am – Join us for an hour of prayer on Tuesday mornings (not held on the last Tuesday of the month).
An Evening of Prayer
7.30pm – Join us for an evening of prayer on the last Tuesday of the month (No meeting on Tuesday 27th December).
