What’s On – April 2023

Read on for details of our upcoming Sunday and weekday worship services (including live stream links), prayer meetings, and other group activities and events taking place at St Paul’s during the month of April.

Sunday Worship Services

Sunday 2nd April

  • 10am – Palm Sunday Holy Communion (live streamed)
  • 4pm – Xtra@4

Join us in church or online for our Palm Sunday Holy Communion service with outdoor procession and the planting of crosses. Chris Clough will be leading and preaching at this service, with Malcolm Hendry presiding. The readings for this service will be Matthew’s Gospel Passion readings. Alternatively, come along to our more informal Xtra@4 service led by Mark Allison, with Brian Greenfield speaking. The reading at this service will be Matthew 21:1-11.

Sunday 9th April

  • 10am – Easter Sunday Family Communion (live streamed)

Join us in church or online for our all-age Easter Sunday Family Communion service today, with Sue Lawrence leading and Brian Greenfield presiding and speaking. The readings for this service will be Colossians 3:1-4 and John 20:1-18 and we will also enjoy an Easter egg hunt!

Sunday 16th April

  • 10am – Holy Communion (live streamed)

For those not taking part in our Parish Weekend Away, join us in church or online for Holy Communion today. Mark Allison will be leading and preaching at this service, with Malcolm Hendry presiding. The readings for this service will be 1 Peter 1:3-9 and John 20:19-end. Please note, there will be no Xtra@4 service today.

Sunday 23rd April

  • 10am – Morning Worship (live streamed)
  • 7pm – Taize Service

Join us in church or online for Morning Worship today, with Sue Lawrence leading and Brian Greenfield preaching. We will be feeding back from our Parish Weekend Away today. The readings for this service are yet to be confirmed. This evening’s Taize service will be led by Rachel Hesselwood, with readings from John 11.

Sunday 30th April

  • 10am – Morning Worship (live streamed)

Join us in church or online for Morning Worship today, with Sue Lawrence leading and Chris Clough preaching. We will continue to feedback from our Parish Weekend Away today. The readings for this service are yet to be confirmed.

Weekday Worship Services

Thursday 6th April

  • 7pm – Maundy Thursday Holy Communion (live streamed)

Join us in church or online for our reflective Maundy Thursday Holy Communion service today. This will be a joint service with St Peter’s Church, Shipley, with Brian Greenfield leading and presiding, and John Rainer  preaching. The readings for this service will be 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 and John 13:1-17. 

Friday 7th April

  • 11.30am – Good Friday Walk of Witness

Coffee and hot cross buns, followed by a short reflection in church and the Good Friday Walk of Witness to Shipley Market Square.

 
  • 2pm – Hour of the Cross

Including meditations, reflections and music.

Wednesday Holy Communion

10am – A short, quiet and reflective service on Wednesday mornings throughout the year, followed by refreshments at 10.30am

Prayer Meetings

An Hour of Prayer

10am – Join us for an hour of prayer on Tuesday mornings (not held on the last Tuesday of the month).

An Evening of Prayer

7.30pm – Join us for an evening of prayer on the last Tuesday of the month.
