We encourage church members to give regularly. Tithing (giving a percentage of your income to the work of God) is a biblical principle. It is God’s way of financing His work on earth. In the Old Testament, tithing helped to look after the widow, the orphan and the temple (Deut. 14:22-29). Jesus encouraged giving too and went so far as to tell a rich ruler to give his wealth to the poor (Mark 10:17-29) and for us to do the same (Luke 12:33).
