Sunday Services – 20/12/20

Sunday Worship Services

Today we light the fourth candle of our Advent wreath in our Christmas Worship Service in church at 10.30am. This service will be an informal service in the style of Sunday Xtra. If you would like to attend, please pre-book your place by texting: 07960626938.

At 6pm, we will hold our online Christmas carol Service via our YouTube channel. This will be an atmospheric candle-lit service with carols and choir, also featuring the Shipley Baptist Church.

Advent & Christmas Services

Below you will find the details of our Advent and Christmas services, including our weekly Wednesday morning Holy Communion Service, which takes place every Wednesday, with the exception of Wednesday 30th December. There will be no Sunday services on Sunday 27th December, in order to allow everybody to take a short break, but we will return on Sunday 3rd January 2021 with our Epiphany service with Holy Communion, which will be held both in church and online.

We will be following all the government and diocesan guidelines to make our services as safe as we can. This includes sanitising hands, 2m physical distancing and mandatory face masks. Please stay at home if you are unwell, isolating or shielding.

Please pre-book your place at our services in church on 20th, 24th & 25th December by texting: 07960626938.

Prayer as we light the fourth candle of our Advent wreath

A candle burns,

the sign of your love.

God of Mary,

come to us again this Advent.

May we gladly respond to your call,

and trust that you are Emmanuel, God with us.

God, give us light, give us hope

Christmas Prayer

Christ, born in a stable,

give courage to all who are homeless.

Jesus, Saviour, hear our prayer.

Christ, for whom the angels sang,

give the song of the kingdom to all who weep.

Jesus, Saviour, hear our prayer.

Christ, worshipped by the shepherds,

give peace on earth to all who are oppressed.

Jesus, Saviour, hear our prayer.

Christ, before whom the wise men knelt,

give humility and wisdom to all who govern.

Jesus, Saviour, hear our prayer.

Christ, whose radiance filled a lowly manger,

give the glory of your resurrection to all who rest in you.

Jesus, Saviour, hear our prayer.

Jesus, Saviour, child of Mary,

you know us and love us,

you share our lives and hear our prayer.

Glory to you forever. Amen.
