The Hirst Wood Burial Board of St Paul’s Church are very appreciative of the interest and support of many in the community, particularly since the willful damage to a number of war graves located within the burial ground. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission have since replaced all the damaged memorials. Volunteers will be welcome to assist with planned maintenance of the burial ground within the Management Plan which is available to view here.
Working parties will be held on Saturday 14th September 2019 and Saturday 18th January 2020 – 9.30am to 4.30pm. Additionally BEES (Bradford Environmental Education Service) volunteers will be spending a Friday in November at the burial ground and will welcome 10 additional volunteers to join them there. Details will be posted on the St Paul’s Church website and the BEES website closer to the time.
People are encouraged to walk through the burial ground, taking care, to enjoy the peace and tranquility. If anyone notices any suspicious activity they should contact the Police or Crimestoppers. Any general concerns can be reported via the Contact Us page on the St Paul’s Church website or e-mail email@example.com.
