ST. PAUL’S CHURCH CHOIR
Our choir comprises both young people, under 18, who make up the Junior Choir and adults. They are drawn from the church, the local community, and several travel from further afield.
The Junior Choir will be trained by Rachel Hesselwood from September 2012. Please see the separate entry for more details about the Junior Choir.
The choir rehearse on Thursday evenings; the full practice for adults and juniors is from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., though juniors may finish earlier.
The choir is required to sing at all the 9.45 a.m. services except for Sunday Together, which is on the 2nd Sunday of the month. From time to time there will be services arranged for Sunday evenings. These might be Evensongs, Songs of Praise or Carol Services. The choir also sings on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Ascension Day (when a service is at St. Paul’s) and Christmas Day.
We are always looking for new members, so anyone interested should speak to either Rachel (for Juniors) or to Alison Dennison or myself for those aged over 18. We like to think we are a friendly group, so do please give us a try.
The choir give a Concert in church at least once a year and we like to entertain the residents of elderly people’s homes around Christmastime.
